特性：溶解性：溶于乙醇。溶于2N HCl參考濃度50mg/ml。
溶于水,熔于乙醇、甲醇、丙酮、氯仿、乙腈和乙酸乙酯，中等程度溶于醚、二氯甲烷和乙酸戊酯。難溶于水。微有引濕性，無臭，味苦。遇酸不穩定。水中溶解度:+/- 2 MG/ML。熔點138-140℃
主要用途：
在轉肽步驟抑制肽鏈延長，與核糖體結合抑制細菌蛋白合成，對細菌誘發*抗性。抗菌譜：革蘭氏陽性細菌和革蘭氏陰性細菌。
屬大環內酯抗生素（Macrolide antibiotic）
*能影響細菌的蛋白合成，一般對革蘭陽性菌有效，主要用于治療耐*G的金色葡萄球菌引起的感染。
*是常用的大環內酯類抗生素，抗菌譜與*相似，主要用于對*過敏患者，或對*耐藥的金葡菌感染，亦可用于鏈球菌、肺炎球菌的感染及白喉帶菌者。
