非活性羧酸染料，Cy5®游離羧酸的類似物。包含Cyanine5熒光團。
這種染料微溶于水，但可以溶于包含有機相（DMF，DMSO，乙醇）的水溶液，以獲得包被足夠濃度的該染料的溶液。水溶的該產品。
這種分子染料為非活性染料，用與對照試驗和儀器校準。如果需要與胺類偶聯和蛋白標記，請參考使用Cyanine5 NHS ester,或者水溶的sulfo-Cyanine5 NHS ester。
