The Field Control Station (FCS) can communicate with subsystems such as sequencers, via the communication modules installed in the nodes. The FCS computates and controls acquired subsystem data. The GS describes the following subsystem communication packages.

1. Subsystem Communication Specifications
Communication with Function Blocks
Subsystem data is stored in the PI/O image portion of Model ACM11 or ACM12 and sent to the data area of the FCS via RIO bus communication. The subsystem data is connected to the function block I/O terminals, like general analog or digital I/O signals.
