線圈類產品（如變壓器、電機等）由于繞線材料、磁性材料、骨架、加工工藝等因素的影響會產生線圈層間、匝間及引腳間等絕緣性能的降低。 TH2882A-3脈沖式線圈測試儀是采用高速取樣技術研制的新一代線圈類產品絕緣性能的測試儀器，可為大多數線圈類產品提供測試解決方案。 該系列產品將標準線圈的采樣波形存儲于儀器中，測試時將被測波形與標準波形比較，根據設定的判據（面積、面積差、相位差、電暈等）以判定被測線圈的優劣。 脈沖式線圈測試儀需在盡可能不損壞被測件的條件下測試其電氣性能，首要條件是能在短暫的瞬間以較低的能量施加于被測件以判別線圈的品質。 測量時將與標準線圈測量時同樣的脈沖通過電容器放電施加于被測線圈，由于線圈電感量、雜散電容和Q值的存在，將響應一個對應于該放電脈沖的電壓衰減波形，比較該衰減波形的某些特征，可以檢測線圈匝間和層間短路及圈數和磁性材料的差異, 如果施加一個高電壓脈沖，根據出現的電暈或層間放電來判斷絕緣不良。
